Anyone got any links to patterns? Don't fancy googling again..

Googled "Fabric Doll Carry cot" and it came up with fabric adult "bed" dolls :twitch:

there's a carrier in the same issue

but I don't recommend it .. far too complicated for a childs carrier

I found my own doll carrier that my Gran made me (70s styles!) and it is perfect. I will try and take a pattern off it

Thats what made me think of it Claire, Charlotte was playing with the one at my Granny's yesterday (very basic rectangle shape with handles and a zip up the middle, a shoebox is inside it for the bulk on the sides and has a dacron type fill in a pillow plus loads of wee blankets, sheets, duvet etc.)

I have this one bookmarked to do at some stage, not sure how easy it is but it looked doable!

These wee blankies at my Granny's are so cool, they are proper old school wool blankets, with blanket stitch edgings, tiny wee quilts (actually quilted), sheets in old retro floral fabric (probably made out of a set of old sheets).. Charli loved them, spent the whole time putting in three knitted pigs (that we had as kids :D ) in and out of this bed and tucking them all in :) was very cute!

Ok, I was making this the day I went into labour, so only just got it finished now. I am on the whole pleased but obviously i mucked up the handles so they dont match!  If I were to do it again I would try and use something stiffer for the sides, that is interfacing and batting and cardboard and it still looks a bit flimsy. I also glued the bottom down as it shifted quite a bit. Anyway, the little pillow I made up and stuffed with batting scraps and the blanket was a cot cover I cut down from a hand me downs box, all the fabric was from my stash and the mattress was an airplane pillow a friend left here! So cost me nothing to make. And DD and dolly like it!

I've made a couple now and they are easy peasy :D
Basically just cut out an oval shape for the base however big you want it, then cut a long strip of fabric folded over and wrap it around the oval to get the right length. I used tetron (sp) to put inside the 2 ovals to strengthen the base and a long strip of tetron inside the folded over length of fabric.
Pinned the llength of fabric (side) to the oval (base) and overlocked it together & voila carrier done.
However I used 2 lengths of webbing for the straps and sewed these to the folded over piece of fabric on each side then when I overlocked the whole thing the ends of the webbing got overlocked also :D Not sure if any of that makes sense maybe I should do a tutorial for my next one and put it on my forgotten blog
