Id prob keen on a yard of skin fabric - maybe hald yars of brown and half of tan? Even though i havnt finished my doll ye i want to make some as gifts and expand dd"s collection over the years - a mermaid doll would be gorgeous

I saw a tute last night but cant find it now - they used ski fabric foe the head and other fabeic for the arms, body etc. Quite funky i thought and would be great, esp if you dot hsve much skin fabric left

Lol ok ill have 1/2 yard of the tan and brown - would love to see running costs to make sre i can afford it though (also mine cam be sent domestically up to laurens and il split that with her (if thats ok lauren?)

Kaz I want in but have no clue where to start with what I need. I think I'll be able to get fabric from Mum for clothes but other than that I'm clueless.

Im just getting the skin fabric - i think last time the girls worked out it was more $$$ to the resr overseas? Esp wool for hair and that that you can source from here.

So i have -
Skin fabric from usa
Wool for hair - from anywhere i have some real pretty/soft pink and purple acyrlic i think id like to use - still undecided if i want "all natural" wih 100% wool hair or not. I want hair like tumbleberry dolls
Hobby fill from spotlight for body fill
Head sox thingy for shaping head - used gauze from spoty that lauren had. Im goin to stick to that cos of price $$
Wool for head stuffing - i used laureens last tims so need to buy more of my own, must ask her where she got it from

I'd love some of the 2inch cotton stockinette.
I'd love a full 25 yard roll myself (of which Daydream97 will probably have a few meters) but if you were wanting a few meters of this size too Kaz then i'd be happy with 10 to 15 for myself.

this is the one i mean: #311 - 2" - 25 yard roll - 24.95
works out at $1 a meter instead of $1.50 when you buy less

(this is used for 10 to 16 inch dolls/ 25cm to 40cm dolls and i think takes about a meter a doll but may be less as you don't need to double over this stuff like the gauze)

Edit: Actually you only need ~14 inches for a 16 inch doll

I've just found out that actually you may only need 14inches (35cm) per 16 inch doll (i was looking at the meterage requirements for gauze where you have to double it over before)

I'm still keen on most of a roll but am happy with 10m of it if anyone else wants some of it

I've just been tying some strong thread round it really tightly then chopping close to this. when i put the stockinette over the head i do it so the tufty end is inside.
When you are covering over with skin/hair a few stitches end up going through the top so you don't have to worry about it not holding long term
