I'm trying to think up things I can do which are non nappy, or slightly nappy, that will justify me getting my snap press sooner!

Nappies are the obvious
clothes
duvet covers

does anyone have any other bright ideas?

if you start up a mama cloth making business i'll sell them on greenbeans. then it'd be a business expense

Yup - I've just replaced the velcro on some of Angus' bibs & will be making myself some mama cloth over the weekend

I'm also examining the kids clothes to see what I can replace with snaps :smt043

I've used snaps:
* to make mama pads
* to replace velcro/ties on bibs (including a lab bib Aimee made Emily)
* as fasteners for new clothing (overalls, sweatshirts, jacket)
* to "tighten" some envelope neck bodysuits we were given
* replaced metal snaps (where one broke off) on clothing
* on a homemade knitting needle bag - snaps into a roll
* on a homemade knitting bag - snaps for pockets and to close
* on a sleepsafe I made for our Queen bed
* on a single bed protector I made for a friend's son's bed
* to alter a funny cuff on one of DH's shirt

Sure beats sewing on velcro or sewing button holes (and it looks sooooo good!).

was thinking this morning watching Hi5,

Kiddies costumes - capes etc
shorts or 3/4 pants that can become trousers by snapping on a longer bit.

Kids jackets (well OK DH wants them on his too) as zips are too hard for little fingers.

* Book bags for the kids school/library books
* pencil cases that the kids choose material(ie:incredibles etc
* Nappy organiser that hangs off the side of the cot with maybe a top row
of pockets with snaps for creams etc.
* Car organiser that hangs on the back of the seat with a few snap pockets that you can shove toys, notebook, crayons, shut up food :mrgreen:

to keep the kids entertained whilst travelling, so that you don't have to stop the car to pick up dropped toys from car seats and you've always got a quick supply if you get stuck in traffic and need a distraction! (I'd loooove one of these :smt044

) speaking from experience in that darn auckland traffic.
* Bill bag - a little bag with snaps for those tear off bits to pay your bills so your not like me and go all the way to town to find I either forgot the piece with the barcode or dd 2 be has cleaned the car :roll:

Oops better go and do the washing getting a litlle carried away :lol

to stop angus getting sunburnt where his tshirt rides up at the back when bending over and crawling.... I've now put one snap on the bottom hem of his tshirts, and then the receiver snap on each pair of shorts! yippee, no more sunburn above his builders crack!!

I thought of one the other day, and forgot to resurrect this thread.

A couple of days ago I snapped 2 lighter-weight polyester fill duvet inners together. It made stuffing both into the duvet cover for the guest bed soooo much easier!

I've replaced velcro on bibs too (removed velcro & added snap). In fact, I did most of Em's bibs before my snap press arrived as I hated the scratching.

I've also replaced a couple of metal slide things that were on my pants - snaps sit much flatter.

Want to use them for next year's advent calendar.

Have another idea too, but I'll add that after my Ozcloth secret santa pressie has been opened.

My trouble is I have my set of Snazzi Fitteds and don't actually NEED any more nappies

Although I'm planning on making some teeny newborn ones anyway. We'll see how things go with Mother's Day (and my birthday not too far away as well)
