Postby trudi » Sun Jan 15, 2012 6:47 am

lhelp me fix it.
i ma currently knitting wi a mans hoody and it looks HUGE! i have done the ribbing at the bottom and probably 8 inches...can i knit two together and reduce the stitches so it is not as wide?would this work at this stage?it is a pattern for flats and i adapted it and put it on circulars...maybe i didnt take off seam allowance...
i cant find any 8ply mans hooded vests on rav :( or am i going to have to rip it back and start doing it the way the pattern suggests and then sew it all together...that means i wil be knitting and purling i wanted to just knit..i would be more likely to finish it....please help!!!!!

Have you checked your gauge and that you are doing the correct size? Seaming is usually only two stitches per seam so you aybe have 4 extra stitches. How many stitches do you think you need to get rid of? Dec now may well give it a bit f a strange shape unless you are really careful how you go about it. Have you tried it on? I find adult knits always look huge byt they aren't once tried on.

I wouldn't knit two together to decrease the stitches if it's really too big - it will end up looking like a swing top. But try it on him first to make sure it really is too big.
