You need to wash based on the most delicate fabric in an item. So in this case, use wool wash and wash on gentle/wool wash. Many of the standard washing powders include enzymes and are at the wrong ph for wool which can result in damage to it long-term.

For future reference:
Best to wash and dry fabrics before you sew up.
I do a cold wash (coz we have no hot water in teh laundry) and then dry in the drier so that fabrics are already preshrunk

That way ther eis no shrinkage afterwards ande just go in a normal wash

I just treat my kids merino clothes like any other clothes and they go through the wash with everything else :D

Same here. I wouldn't hot wash, but I rarely use hot for anything.

I think it depends how much washing things get. DH had a bunch of merino tshirts which eventually started to disintegrate after a few years of weekly washing in with the usual wash. These days they get wool wash, physical and chemical.

I do a 30deg "hand wash" / delicate wash with Ecostore wool wash, I wash bras in a lingerie bag and merinos in the same wash.
