Knitting a letter in a cable

Knitting a letter in a cable

Postby Angel » Mon Apr 23, 2012 9:09 am

A friend of mine had a baby a couple of days ago and I want to make her a milo. Instead of the traditional cable, I will still do a cable but I want to put a letter P in it (for her name). Is there a pattern for letters that I can look at to do this? I will probably continue the cable down and put a heart under the letter.

Hmm. You might be able to do the O from the XO one with a stick underneath to make it a P. I've never seen a cabled letter dictionary.

It doesnt have to specifically be for cabled letters, just something I can modify is fine. I might just try it and see what I end up with haha.

Instead of cables for the letter you could just do it in stocking stitch so that it stands out on the purl background?

Yes - I think that's what I mean. I will make a P pattern.
