I remember talking to Callum's Godmother about the ones she uses, good ones from the US... and I really want to get some still at some stage, but never quite sorted myself out enough for it! Cant remember the name of them though....

Yes spotlight have them not a great range of colours $6.49 each, they are easy to use though.

Also when at The Warehouse on my way home I found Sharpie do a range of permanent fabric stain pens which where reduced to clear $5.97 for 4 (red, green, blue and black) I havent used them yet but they have a website sharpie.com that you can find out more about them. They have a brush like tip on them compared to a fetl like tip on the others.

This thread is great timing! I'm keen to get my hands on some too after seeing this quilt http://pinterest.com/pin/88805423872081418/ and thought it would be great to capture the kids drawings on a quilt somehow.

I bought a pack from a toyshop for a quilt project like the one above, then found another pack in the cupboard :hide: (whoops, I knew I needed to tidy up...) Don't need two packs so after I check that they're all working, does anyone want one of the packs?

So sorry, I forgot all about this! Do you still want them? They are these ones... http://www.uniqueboutique.co.nz/villa-c ... tails/1870

Can't remember using them, although the blue and purple are slightly fuzzy on the end so I must have. $5 plus postage sound okay?

Just bumping this up again to see if anyone has any more feedback about the various pens mentioned here.

setaskrib ones are good. and have nice tips (nice and fine, and i think a fat one at the other end too) i get them from gordon harris, and they won't fade/wash out.

I've used them for complex drawings, and for copyright claims too.

i get them form gordon harris, but I'm pretty sure you can get them from spotty too

These aren't pens but are still awesome for drawing with onto t-shirts/fabric etc - you do have to heat set though.
The plan is to copy one of of G's pictures each month then put them together into a quilt for his next birthday.

ooh those are good too.

OT but quilt sounds awesome! have you seen that series of canvases with the kids silhouettes changing each year? the woman painted a new one each birthday - very cool seeing the change with a few linked up!

that does sound cool, but don't think my art skills are quite up to that, - will have to have a looksie for it.
I was meaning copying one of the pictures that G has drawn - I think I should be able to copy the work of a three year old

Ooh, thanks for the pastels link. They could be a go-er, they seem reasonably priced. My most favourite teacher (currently James', formerly Emily's) has announced she is leaving Chc :boohoo: and I'm thinking of doing something crazy like a quilt in the link I poster earlier. Now I just need to hunt down her release teacher to see if we can work such a project into the class secretly...

I've seen another silhouettes tutorial on a blog somewhere. Now where?
