101 things to do with a snap press?

Postby sable » Mon May 08, 2006 11:31 pm

Replace the foam thingies holding the trampoline safety pads on. I used some nylon webbing, attatched 2 complete snap sets and Bob's your Uncle!

Turn up hems of too long boys pants. They look like they're meant to be there, but are easily undone when that growth spurt happens.
I used 4 on each leg.

Did I tell you about the sleeping bag that I made for a 4 year olds birthday? I made the bag from a blanket with merino knit inner and a cotton outer - had no zipper foot at the time so zip sewing was not the best.

I then did a polar fleece outer which could be snapped on and off - perfect!

Then when my girlfriend called past I snapped all her sillybillyz bibs for her - don't think it really justifies the purchase - so would anyone like to babysit it while I am away overseas????

Oh Helen I would love to babysit for you - I'm trying to work out whether I could justify buying one. But I don't think I could get to your place to pick it up!

can you use a snap press to put metal snaps on? eg. to make denim jeans with snaps? And if you can, where would you get metal snaps from?

maybe (for future reference ;) ) using different colours would be the way to go.. so you match blue socket with blue stud, pink socket & pink stud etc etc.. 8)

sunbird- nah i don't think you can do the metal ones, the little press things for them are way cheaper anyway... but resin snaps are the best!!

I took a photo of my recent snapping effort. I pulled the curtains off the car to wash them. I couldn't be bothered farting around trying to figure which curtain went where, so I made up some FOE straps to snap the suck-on (and regularly fall off) sunshades on. The curtains block more, but these shades certainly help filter the sun. Might put the curtains back up one day.

I was going to make a snap FOE holder (snap dummy on, snap onto Ergo) so that we didn't lose J's dummy while he's in the Ergo. But, he doesn't need his dummy because he's got me ;) (being close gives him a lot of comfort ;))

I've snapped some hand towels so they don't end up on the floor all the time.
