First ever fitteds

First ever fitteds

Postby sable » Sun Nov 20, 2005 4:05 pm

I used my snaps, woolly nylon and finished 2 fitted nappies which I'm really happy with.
The velcro one it T&T, the snaps is overlocked.

:smt041 :smt041 Well done!

I am jealous - I wish I could sew like that.

I love the fabric!

Wow - they are gorgeous! I just don't think I could serge neatly enough to have it exposed. Have you used Woolly Nylon on the serging? Looks very nice & soft.

Do I spot plaid powerdry on the inside???

Lining is plaid powerdry from Cloth_diaper_supplies co-op in USA
Inner (hidden) is 2 layers teal sherpa from FabricFarm coop in USA
Snap in soaker is powerdry and hemp terry from Wrightblanketbinding coop in USA
Flannel is batik dyed flannel from Spotlight here in Christchurch.
The woolly nylon is actually Woolly Nylon Extra, so it's heavier than normal and I got that from Fabric.com.

Hope that answers everyone's questions. I'd probably get a couple of things from different places in future. The hemp I'd go for Cloth_diaper_supplies as she always has it on hand, I don't think fabricfarm will be doing sherpa in the future as she's going more natural fabrics with no man-made fibres included.

Thanks for that. Will have to have a real hunt next time I am child free at spotlight. That place is sooooo not buggy friendly - although it is useful for balancing the rolls of fabric :D

eek! indeed. Made mistake of going to SPotlight Friday afternoon, dragged three tired kids halfway across town  what I was thinking I am not sure! - just wanted to get fabric for my SS gift - WHAT a mission! Was only my third visit to the store so wasn't able to be quick as didn't really know where to look for things...I hate to think what people thought of me, not a proud parenting moment that one.........next time its just baby and me, actually remembering the spew down my front and major nappy leak (he was in the ABC so it was pretty much hidden from view thank heavens!) with complete change of clothes in the carpark - maybe just me........
