I was thinking about this a few months back but I really need someone to do it with me, so if there is anyone in welly, pref. Lower Hutt area who would love to help me teach a class, please PM me.

How long is your class going to be? Just the one session or perhaps a few sessions so you can cover topics such as wash & care, making inserts, covers wetbags & wipes & also cover great websites for support such as this one!

I would ask all students to pay their $25 for a DIY kit before start date so you can have it all organised on the day. Hope it helps, just a few ideas I had when/if I start teaching.

So far we have decided on a 3 hour class. We'll just see how it goes. First time and everything, it'll let us know what to do for the future.

I'd really like to have more sessions to cover other things. We have had a huge response. I'd've been happy if we had 5 or 6 respond, but i've had over 15 people contact me and that's without even advertising it! But that will be up to our fabulous teacher. :D

Will let you all know how it goes.

Sorry Megan only just saw this (slack  ) I'll definitely bring my press and snaps along if that will help. I'm a bunny nappy maker but I have got the obligatory first screw up out of my system now  and I have lots of layette sewing to do before the class so hopefully I won't be a problem child  . DH found the foot to my old machine (just after I bought the new one  ) so let me know if you need a spare and I'll check it is working. I can cut out the WW m/l pattern out of my inner fabric (and PUL if necessary) to bring along so as not to slow things down in that area if it would help.
You will be fine. BTW I have a friend who might like to come and just watch. Would that be possible (she might be able to help Jas with the babysitting)? Hopefully I won't be too big to get behind a machine on the day

That's fine for your friend to come too. Just had another woman express interest so we're up to 12 plus your friend! DP is getting a bit nervous about how many children he'll be wrangling  .
Sorry, I keep forgetting to ask about your snap press  . It would be great if you can bring it. I'll bring all the snaps we need but if you could bring your Size 20 die set that would be fabulous :D .
I'm thinking I might precut some people's fabric beforehand to save time, but others might want practise doing that too. Hmmm, so much to think about!

It's OK. She doesn't want to sew anything :) she might not come anyway but I thought I would ask on her behalf. DH is pleased to hear that your DP is coming too!

 I'm not mentioning anything about that to Sol. But maybe I should try and rope FIL in to coming and helping out too. A banana cake bribe might do the trick.

I think i'll be helping with the kids too. i forwarded you another email today Megan so that is 13, which is one more nappy cut than we have, so i can help the men so they don't feel too daunted.
Also another dad and 2 grandparents are coming to help with kids.
Some people may not bring their kids. *well emilt said she might not. everyone else is.) And the big kids are GREAT at helping with the littlies, so thay don't actually need too much watching they are just extra helpers.

EJ is that Megan who is coming to watch? I thought about telling her the other day after she had made her first trousers. (and with pockets, i was very impressed!), but knew numbers were full.

Yes Fi it was Megan I was talking about. I haven't actually mentioned to her that it would be OK for her to come and watch yet  but she didn't want to sew one on the day. She was really chuffed and encouraged when you were impressed my her pockets too. So well done you!
I can and will bring my own PUL (cut out to the WW pattern if that helps) as well as liner so you can still do it Fi. I have heaps of fabrics so I really don't need them supplied. I don't know what colours you are getting Megan but if you have people wanting a colour you aren't getting I might even be able to swap a cut. BTW Emily's boy Ra is an asset not a liability in my opinion.
Not wanting to be a wet blanket but is the venue going to be able to cope with the power load of all those machines running at once?
