I can put up flyers and posters, + happy to offer help and support with the library demo - anything that might be useful there.
Rachel.

that sounds great Rachel...will definitely take you up on your offer!

just made up the flyers promoting our demo sessions: they will be 1/3rd size of A4. can be printed in colour or b&w. kelley did the posters (A4 size, colour) and I have the pdf for these too...going to ask for one tweak before going to print though. so, if anyone wants the pdfs or printed versions to distribute let me know (need to know numbers for the printed versions). i was thinking the posters could go up whereever there are community noticeboards, your local takeaway, supermarkets etc. flyers i guess can be given to anyone you know who is pregnant or midwives, and if anyone wants to approach the baby factory/city to leave them at the counters there then that would be *really* helpful (i'm a bit of a whimp when it comes to that kind of thing).

now, just have to make up the poster for use at the demos...

good news: nhnz (natural history new zealand) are letting us print 50 colour copies for free...thanks very much nhnz!!! their employees are also the ones who have, through buying slices of cake and cookies, paid for our snap press, snaps and material for the newborn hire kit.

Excellent news! Yay for Natural History New Zealand! If nobody else has volunteered yet I will do Babycity and the Babyfactory. I was also wondering if it would be worth trying Queen Mary?

Could I also grab a few flyers/posters for other places? I was thinking supermarket, daycare, our doctor's has a big noticeboard, + one for my brother's church noticeboard (They advertise toddler music groups, so why not nappies!), and I'm sure that I can think of some more.

Great work getting all the posters and things organised.

Also, we were in the Children's Library this morning and saw the pamphlets for the new DCC Nappy Subsidy. They were out on the main desk for people to take, and looking really bright and eye-catching, so really good to see.

Are the posters just TNN ones or do they advertise the demo too ? If they are just TNN promoting cloth i could use a couple . I am doing a talk / demo at Mosgiel Library and Blueskin Bay on RNW so would be quite handy to have some :D . I have had a few people asking all about cloth out here in Mosgiel , both preg and with babies under 9 mnths old that can access the subsidy but also some with older babies too that are keen on the idea .
Looks like there will be a few talks / demos in the town library between tnn and 2 of the suppliers for the subsidy also doing 2 demos so that's good - the more exposure the better ! :D

I would love to help out in some way - just let me know where you need help! I'm a bit limited with transport as DH has the car every day but we can walk 8-) . I'm happy to put posters up at church and the Andy bay plunket rooms, DH would happily put some up at work (the carpet company)... :D

good to have so much interest.

thanks rachel for the offer of approaching baby city and baby factory, i'll have printouts by the end of today...

mumtotwo: we don't have general posters promoting cloth but we do have pamphlets...do you want pdf or printouts? pm me your email if you want the pdf....else, we'll have to arrange something (i'm not getting these printed today though...we haven't asked yet to print those :) )

leah, perhaps we can find a way of dropping them off to you, unless you're in our neighbourhood next thursday then feel free to drop in :)

Alicia, I could probably pop over and pick some up tomorrow if that was a good time for you. I won't bring the boys though, since Aidan has a horrible tummy bug.

Hi guys

We've collected heaps of brochures from nappy retailers and asked for extras so we can send to other centres. If you would like some for your event, can someone please PM me with an address to send them to? We can have them ready to go in Saturday's post, after the Auckland RNW expo.

Thx :D

Well we had a small turnout today BUT we had reporters from the Otago Daily Times, The Star (local rag) and local Channel 9! Great publicity for our Saturday demo at the library :D

That's cool you had all those reporters there! I really wanted to come, I so want to be involved in RNW (and meet some of you!), but DS didn't wake in time. I suspect the same thing may happen on Sat... I could possibly come to the library one without him, will see how it goes.

Will have to keep an eye out in the papers now !! :D
