DUNEDIN REAL NAPPY WEEK 2006

This thread is to coordinate & communicate ideas and planning for celebrating Real Nappy Week 2006 in Dunedin.
Please add your ideas and suggestions (this includes ideas from TNN members outside of Dunedin)

- Official Nappucino
Monday 24th April, 1pm Dunedin Parents Centre, Mornington.
All welcome $2 fee, full play facilities for young children.

- Window Display
Dunedin GREEN PARTY Office.
40 Lower Stuart Street.

- Dunedin Community radio station. Hills FM
We now have a regular notice on here!!! Informing people of our reg Monday meetings.

- Now that I have confirmed the Window display at the Green Party Office, we can ADD this information to any flyiers and posters that we put up around Dunedin.

- Places to seek permission to display posters:
A poster will be ready on Monday at the next nappucino.

- Window DCC marketing office (Civic Centre building, opposit the lift)
- Dunedin Libraries (includes Waitati, Port Chalmers etc)
- Dunedin Parents Centre
- Supermarkets
- Kindy noticeboards
- NEV Community Newsletter (email sent)
- Dunback Store. (confirmed) There seems to be a group of keen clothies in the Palmerston/Karitane coast area who we really should get it touch with.

DUNEDIN nappy Network members - we need as many people to be there on Monday as possible!!
I know some of you have commitments etc but Pleeeease try to make it if you can and bring a friend or family member!

Helen is calling Channel nine and if they do come along, it will really sad if there are only three or four of us present!!

So please try to make it even for just an hour.

Timing has made the following part of Real nappy week.

I will giving a speech to The Dunedin City Council Panel regarding submissions for the Resource recovery and Waste Management Strategy TOMMORROW at 9.45
27th April, 9.45 Edinburgh Room, Municipal Chambers.

Any member of the public is welcome to attend th hearing.
Any Dunedin TNNers are welcome to come along and listen.
I'm first up for the day and have 10 minutes to give my speech.

My submission speech went REALLY well this morning.
Well received by the Council panel; a media rep was present so I'm hoping that I will get a mention there; one councillor in particular was very positive.
The start of what I hope will be a very positive and beneficial relationship between the DCC and the DNN (Dunedin Nappy Network).

Can everyone please check the ODT over the next few days.

The media reporter for the Otago Daily Times at the Hearing today phoned me this afternoon to check if i was a Miss, Ms or Mrs in his ...... STORY!!!! wooo hooo :smt041

(It's likely to be about ALL the submissions but I think mine sounded pretty cool!)

All this recent media attention is so fantastic for the Dunedin Nappy Network, I just wish we had an event coming up in the next couple months to rebound off this publicity. Maybe we will have to put on a midwinter event!!
