Bum Genius One size pocket

Just got mine today..(bought it off rosie)
first impressions:
I love the feel of it,sooo soft!(not sure quite what its made of)
The flap for the insert/s seems pretty fiddly but i guess ill get the hang of it..
The stretchy tabs are awesome but i think the material used for them would get pilled quite easily.
It does snap down quite small....maybe not small enough for a newborn?
Havnt tried it yet so will update when i have

Anybody else have one they want to do a review on?

We have one and I LOVE it!

It would be my most favourite one-size pocket. Don't know that you can buy it in NZ (yet) though, so hence that's why I've not posted a review before.

Things I really like about it:
* Trim
* Velcro (great for babysitters) with soft non-rubbing laundry tabs
* Lovely stretchy tabs for adjustability
* Good rise adjustment with snaps (sometimes I find the snaps too bulky/kinda clunky to use, but these ones are in a good positions). Emily at 20 months wears it with the first snap up.
* Neat wee "tuck in pocket" at the back
* Great fit
* Same PUL as Whisper pants - fast drying
* Yummy suedecloth inner

Things that aren't so good:
* only available in white (I hear they will be releasing a few more colours though)
* Not made in NZ (I love NZ made products)
* Because of the design of the pocket opening, it's actually quite difficult to slip your hand in to feel how damp the insert is (sounds gross, I know, but I do it all the time)

It supposed to fit a newborn, but I'm not convinced. I shall give my opinion on that in about a month's time...

Dunners does it loose its colour at all?
The whisper pants turn a funny grey colour....do these eventually?

Couldn't answer that one yet - it's been washed (and soaked in Napisan - poo stains on suedecloth needed lifting) a couple of times and it still looks very white. Shall keep an eye on it over time...

Maybe I should say "the PUL on the bumGenius! pocket reminds me of the PUL on Whisper pants".

mines still white.. but I havent had it too long.
I worry that the lycra will go quite quickly. Otherwise great!

MMM thats what i thought too!!I guess you could always replace it if it did?with something more "hard wearing" ??

I have one- not used it much. The fit is good, seems to go quite small. I find the insert hard to put in! Not sure if I should snap the end bit down or not. I love how soft the velcro is, and the stretchy tabs. The only thing that has put me off using it is that I'm pretty sure the PUL is not breathable- you can' t suck air through it like you can with fuzzis/bummis wraps, and Elises botty ended up really hot. It is very similar to the whisper pants PUL

Yep my names Rachael and I suck nappies I just read on the fuzzi website to do it, I'm really not that weird! Does anyone know if it actually is breathable or not, or have a more scientific way of testing?

I think the pocket flap thingy would confuse me . I like the stretchiness of the tabs but not the pilliness of the aplix on them. Yeah, yeah...I like snaps . Sharon

Nope thats just for the photo!Theres a bit of suedecloth that fold over!I agree this nappy would be awesome with snaps.....HMMMM You could probably make it a snap nappy but itd be sorta back snap as the front wings are the longest!!!

If thats ordinary lycra fabric, I don't see how it's going to stand up to the wear and tear (is it the shiny or the cotton type lycra?)
If you were going to make one with snaps, you'd need something more than the lycra, it wouldn't hold snaps without mucho reinforcing.
Cool concept though!

It looks like normal lycra although im not a fabric expert so not too sure!
It would have to be back snapping,therefore no snaps on the lycra but on the front wings and on the waterproof material at the side/back of the pocket.....
I too am interested to see how its going to hold up,theres already some pilling on the lycra and i havnt even used it yet.I would think this would easily get holes!
I better make sure i fold back all my laundry tabs(which im not too good at)
