I know that Leanne has a cool toy that makes covered buttons/magnets etc and I have the primitive by hand versions of covered buttons and love them. I was just thinking how cool it would be to be able to cover snaps rather than buttons for using on clothes. Does such a beast as a covered snap press exist?
No tool or bits as such. But you could get some long-pronged caps and cover them with fabric with a running stitch to gather it around the prong. I've always planned to try it, but haven't got long-pronged caps (keep forgetting to get some) and I'm thinking the extra length of the long prong would be needed to cope with the gathering of the fabric bulking it out a bit.

It can be done, I've done a few dresses and cardigans for little girls with covered snaps. Only with ordinary caps too. Easiest way is gather it around the prong , then poke the prong through the fabric before you put it in the snap press.
